Environmental - ISO 14001

NEC Philips recognises its responsibilities towards the environment and believes that environmental issues should be an integral part of the business. As part of a continuing drive for quality in all things we do, we are therefore committed to minimising the impact of our operations on the environment by means of a programme of continuous improvement.

In particular, NEC Philips is committed to:

- Meeting and, where possible, exceeding the requirements of the appropriate legislation and any other requirements to which NEC Philips may subscribe from time to time.

- Preventing pollution of the environment from its activities, through the effective application of an environmental management system. which meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001 and NEC Philips corporate policies.

- Seeking to reduce consumption of materials in all operations, to re-use rather than dispose of wherever possible, and to promote recycling and the use of recycled products.

- Educating, training and encouraging employees to act in a responsible manner with regard to environmental issues

- Identifying and achieving annual environmental objectives and targets

- Conducting internal reviews in order to measure performance and to ensure policy goals and standard requirements are met.

- Encouraging suppliers to consider similar practices by communicating our Environmental Policy.

The NEC Philips Environmental Policy and Objectives shall be:

- Displayed within the company to ensure staff and visitor awareness.

- Given to suppliers to encourage similar practices, and

- Made available to customers, local residents, authorities and other interested parties.
