TAYLOR VINTERS UNIFIES COMMUNICATION TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY & PRODUCTIVITY

NEC Philips to implement Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS)
at award winning leading regional law firm

Taylor Vinters, one of the UK’s leading regional legal firms, is trialling Unified Communications (UC) technology provided by NEC Philips Unified Solutions. The solution, which incorporates Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) and Live Meeting, will help Taylor Vinters not only to streamline business processes but also to revolutionise the way they communicate with their customers. This in turn will enable Taylor Vinters to continue to build on its position at the forefront of its sector and reinforce its reputation for delivering innovative solutions to support its business activities.

As a company whose business has been largely built around customer satisfaction and referrals, Taylor Vinters recognise the potential of adopting a Unified Communications approach and see it as a solution for further improving the effectiveness of interactions between staff and clients.

In this phase of the deployment, users will be empowered with secure instant messaging, presence information and a collaborative real-time meeting environment, incorporating video conferencing capabilities, which will be a potential replacement for the hosted meeting services currently used. Given the international reach of Taylor Vinters’ operations, UC will also enable them to utilise and share resources around the business more efficiently and effectively.

Upon successful completion of the trial, Taylor Vinters will evaluate expanding the solution to include full email and voice integration, plus the ability to create secure federation links with its key clients and other external partners.

Commenting on the firm’s investment in Unified Communications (UC), Steve Sumner, Director of IT at Taylor Vinters says, “We pride ourselves on our ability to provide our clients with a world-class service that reflects the entrepreneurial spirit and success embodied by our customers. As such, it is pivotal that we remain at the forefront of innovation within the various arenas we operate in and provide our customers with clear, tangible benefits from any changes we implement. UC seems set to deliver well beyond our expectations and we look forward to the impact improved staff connectivity and enhanced presence information will have on our business productivity and efficiency.”

As Steve continues, “Our single office strategy has, to date, been key to our ability to provide the high-quality, seamless service that sets us apart from other firms. However, in the current economic and environmental climate, we need to be flexible and responsive to change and be able to evolve our business activities accordingly. UC provides an excellent opportunity to further improve customer service levels and reduce costs, but at the same time capitalise on new trends such as home-working – all without compromising our bottom line.”

Steve concludes, “We have a good relationship with NEC Philips who have been working close with us to understand our requirements and design a solution that fits with our objectives. Their ability to tailor their expertise to our specific needs and support us with every aspect of this deployment is key to our development and in providing us with a reliable easy-to-use solution to implement new ideas and drive up quality whilst protecting the bottom line.”
